RESIDENTIAL EXTENSION & REMODELLING – CONCEPT DESIGN + FULL PLANNING SUBMISSION

This project involved the complete architectural development of a modern residential extension and internal reconfiguration for a private client in Church Stretton. The brief required the creation of high-quality concept designs followed by a fully coordinated planning submission package.

Working from the existing property survey information and site photos, the design process began with concept-level massing studies and 3D visualisations, exploring how to maximise natural light and improve internal layout flow. As shown in the existing elevation and plan documentation, the original building presented limitations in spatial quality, glazing, and structural arrangement. These studies evolved into a refined architectural proposal incorporating: a new open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, a feature vaulted roof structure with exposed trusses, improved glazing strategy to enhance daylight and views, revised internal circulation and rationalised room layouts and updated external appearance consistent with the local character.
Following client approval of the preferred concept, a full planning drawing package was produced. A complete submission set for the planning authority, ensuring clarity on design intent, scale, materials, and visual impact. The final proposal delivers a contemporary and cohesive extension that significantly enhances both function and architectural character while remaining sensitive to its context.

This project demonstrates a full service from early feasibility and concept design through to the preparation of all required planning documentation, providing the client with a clear, visually driven design process and a robust application package.
